‘Discipline Through Black Sorcery’ is a gloriously wild, anthemic track of cold, majestic black metal; the type of which is rarely heard this side of the 20th century. It is a quest for solitude unobtainable on this Earth, where the endless beyond is the only true freedom. Hear the soaring, sinister melodies, channelled through mighty riffs with the power of ice clad winds containing the destructive power to raze feeble the temples of man. A hate filled battery of total contempt for whatever is left of this dying world. It is the soundtrack to death, life, sex & violence. It is the sound of a band pushed against the wall with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Play it loud. Summon the spectres of the ancient world.

Through fire, through water,
through temples carved of stone.
My quest for dark solitude,
beyond the realms of men.
From the highest astral pulpit,
to the subterranean vaults.
I piss on the graves of billions,
I mock, and rise again.

This gift of frozen ashes,
the blessings of the noose.
These treasures I bestow upon thee,
ye fools of a cursed line.
My scorn shall ye receive,
poison in the hearts of men,
tormenting all with pestilence,

From far beyond the twilight realm,
I call this evil forth.
Malignant forms of holy dark,
attack at my command!

Rise! Rise! From the abyss to cover the world in chaos.
Rise! Rise! With iron scythes this world defiled.
No mercy, no redemption, no paradise saved.
Thundering hearts, swollen black in night graves.

Nightfall comes roaring on the shadowed wings of death,
under skies lit by primordial fires!
Luciferian magick, this holy burning pyre.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts.
